Luminess Air Review

Foundation has always been a big deal for me. I had bad acne as a teenager and it left a lot of scarring. I have literally tried every type there is. Heavy cream foundation caused more acne and sweats off in the summer. More affordable drug store foundation accentuates the scars and does not cover at all. Mineral foundation doesn't cover well and makes me feel like I have cakey dirt on my face. What I've been using for the last few years is Estee Lauder double wear foundation. It is $35 and lasts about a month. It does have good coverage but it rubs off on everything and everyone. In the summer time it only stays on a couple of hours and looks gross and oily.

After seeing the Luminess Air on GMA for only $89 with promotion code GMA50 on Good Morning America http://www.luminessair.com/gma I immediately ordered it! The regular price was $179. (I do not know when this will expire so get one soon if you are wanting one!) Being the girly girl that I am, I have ALWAYS wanted to try this. I chose the free shipping option, which, the site states it takes 4 weeks to receive. My set only took 2 weeks to receive.
I tan a lot and thought I was pretty dark so I chose the 'tan' option. There are four options for color choice.
My package arrived and I was giddy to try it but had to go to my daughters school function so I couldn't do it until that evening. The packaging is pink and swanky. It feels like Christmas unwrapping it all. I watched the dvd which is short and to the point, and then I got started!
The two 'tan' colors are VERY dark. I still couldn't wait to try it so I put some drops in the machine and started spraying. The coverage is really amazing. In the video, it instructs you to use 3-4 drops.Because of all of the scaring, it takes me a lot more than that many drops. I have to do at least 3 'layers' which takes about 15 drops all together.
I called customer service to see if I could order a lighter shade. She was super nice and is sending me a lighter color for FREE!!
Luminess has a 'club' you can join which is just an autoship of the product for a discounted price. I will definitely be joining this and will get a large bottle of foundation for $38. Since it's summer time and I'm more oily during that time, I'm going to be starting off with 'matte'.

****  while writing this post I noticed that the Today show was doing a promo on the luminess tanning set https://www.luminesstan.com/TodayShow/SelectSystem.aspx for $68.50 regular price $193.50
 code: TanTODAY  ****

FINAL THOUGHTS:
I love this part, it's like Jerry Springers 'parting opinion'. I feel like I'm sitting in the front of the stage on my wooden stool right now.

* LOVE the system. I read a lot of bad reviews on this and I really don't understand why. A couple of people said that it broke them out.

* After just a week I can say that my skin is a lot clearer and smoother. I've officially switched from the estee lauder to the luminess.

* The bronzer is so pretty and looks amazing with just a few drops. It does take a lot of the foundation for the coverage I want, but I need a lot and expected that.

*Even if you 'tan', the tan is a little too dark. They send two different shades but the tan was really dark and super dark. You are supposed to be able to mix the colors to achieve the perfect shade. If you are like me and choose the wrong color, they do send you a shade lighter for FREE which is super cool.

* On the infomercial, they show coverage of dark scars. I have none, so we tried covering a dark scar on my husbands hand. Even he was impressed of the coverage. After about four coats the scar could not be seen. The makeup really does look natural and does not look like foundation at all!

* The only thing I would recommend is a super pale or almost white 'base' so you can mix it with the darker colors in the winter when skin is lighter. This would also help when you have lots of darker colors from not choosing the right color the first time. If I could just mix my 'tan' with some white/light drops, it would be perfect and would save everyone money.

I'm dying to try the tanning spray for a safer option than the tanning bed. It looks awesome!! It will be my next luminess purchase!

If you've been considering this, buy it while it's at this price, it's so worth it!!!
would love to know how you like it!!

*This is my own opinion. I was not compensated by Luminess Air , the Today shor or GMA in in way shape or form*

Hair Extensions. Oh yes, I did!

****GRAINY PICTURES AHEAD!!!*****

 WHY FAKE HAIR??

The past few months have been sad for me. This is the year that my oldest daughter is graduating high school. I see all of my friends post about prom and all the exciting things that go along with senior year and I just want to cry. Perhaps I'm selfish, I just would've liked to have gone through all of the steps that seniors to go from high school to real life. Since my oldest daughter lives 3 hours away, this is pretty impossible. I'm trying to keep positive and focus my attention to the family that I have with me and not try to stress so much. :) My 9 year old will be a senior in the blink of an eye, so I'm trying to squeeze every single second of it and spend as much quality time that I can.
Also, I'm 37 now. I might be going through a mid-life crisis a little early but I didn't google it so I'm not sure I can diagnose myself. I have no plans on finding a boyfriend, and I haven't bought a convertible yet (but I need to admit that I looked at the sticker information on a convertible cadillac that was sitting in the mall) so maybe I'm just working on my bucket list.
Lots of family members and friends throughout my life have had long, flowing locks. I have a loooonnngg face though, and most of my life it's been WIDE so there are not many times my hair has been long and when it did, it didn't look great. I guess I need to blame pinterest too, they have all of these boards with pictures of long, beautiful hairstyles, and it just made me REALLY want to grow my hair out.
Since I have zero patience, I went to YOUTUBE and searched 'extensions'. After deciding that I didn't want to shell out about $600, and I didn't want a ton of little plugs in my hair, I decided on clip in extensions. Lots of reviews are online and youtube. I stumbled across My Fantasy Hair after reading a good review. They also have a thicker hair, which means it weighs more. All the others I looked at had a very low weight, and my hair is super short so I needed a thicker hair since I'm not filling in. So today I get the hair in and it really felt like Christmas. It matched exactly with the color of my hair and it's SO THICK. I hung it from tulle and styled it which took about 30 minutes and then I put the wefts in. Instructions for putting them in are all over youtube.
I'm pretty stinkin' proud of myself for this just being my first time. Of course I'm way to scared to wear them in public right now but if we go somewhere or actually go out I will test them out. My husband LOVES them, but he is pretty biased and always says he loves everything. Of course I have only had these for 8 hours, but so far my opinon of this brand is all A's. It is incredibly thick and it brushes well. The curls didn't stay very long but I used a low heat and only a couple squirts of chi helmet head.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that life is just so stinkin' short. If you want to buy a big 'ol bag of hair extensions and try them out, DO IT. Who cares what people say? I care. But I like feeling pretty too. I doubt I'll have 'Looked like a goofball with extensions' on my headstone.

Each morning, I roll out of bed, get my daughter off to school and then I run to my laptop.
Wait, it's not weird yet.
Then I go to this one site....and I push refresh OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
I see the new beautiful craft they have to offer for the day and my mind goes CRAZY thinking about all of the wonderful things I will make!! Tiny clothespins?? They will look darling holding up an advent item! Wooden tags?? I can paint them and give them out in Christmas cards!!
My husband has come to terms with the fact that he can't talk to me until after I've scored the loot. I'm like a crazy woman...I just DON'T WANNA MISS OUT!!
If you're the crafty type...the 'I can make that!' and never come out of hobby lobby empty handed, you must check the site out!
Here is just a small example of the booty I have received from there. You can get customized ribbon, custom vinyl, diy earrings, bookmarks, chalkboard, the site really offers a lot of variation.
The 'catch' to this site is that the product is only available for the day (m-f). And there are a LOT more people like me that just can't get enough, so the product goes FAST! A lot of the time everything goes in a couple of hours. If you need to be reminded when they stock you can join their facebook page. Let 'em know I sent ya.....but don't tell your husband it was me!
Want even more craftiness? VeryJane.com and GroopDealz.com also offer crafty goods for a short amount of time at a discounted price. These sites are great for customized gifts also.

Flea Market with Tips & Tricks!

This is one of those great events that you count down to. I waited for months for this flea market, asked for the day off a month in advance and every day got a little more excited. The Elk City flea market is a bona fide 'dig through boxes and bargain big' kind of flea market. My husband even asked for it off. I hate to admit it, but I let my daughter play hookie to go with us. At first she was disappointed because she didn't want to miss school but I assured here there would be someone selling rocks, so she decided it would be okay.

If you've never been to a flea market/ townwide yard sale before, here are a few things that work for me

1.as you think of projects you want to make, or elements you are wanting to add to your yard or house, write it down (preferably on your phone). This way when you get there, you don't forget all of the things you were going for in the first place. I think it's easy to get caught up and overwhelmed with all the STUFF.

2. Make a quick once-around. About a million times I've taken my sweet time while I watch person after person walk past me with big marvelous things that would look perfect in my home/yard/as a gift. When you arrive, force yourself to walk quickly past each booth and look at all the BIG stuff. It's easy to miss the big beautiful piece in the corner when you are digging through the little boxes.

3. Take several large bags. Fold one inside the other until you need it. Luckily, I usually have Ryan to take my stuff to our vehicle when my hands get full. Sometimes I don't, though, and it's nice to not have to keep making trips and just putting everything in my bags. I've seen some people take little wagons, and that would work too.

4. Pack a lunch. I don't want to be starving and the only options be cheesecake on a stick.

5. Keep larger bills in a different pocket. I used to keep all my money in one pocket and unroll it all out to pay. When you do this, the big bills can fall out and will be lost forever. This also looks bad when you ask the seller if they will take five dollars and you pull a bunch of twenties out of your pocket when paying.

6. If you want it, GET IT. If there's something that is original, you can't get on ebay or the local store, and you LOOOVEEE it, buy it. Chances are, if you wait until you come back through, it will be in somene elses hands. And that's just no fun.

7. My biggest tip is to SMILE and be nice to everyone. The vendors sit there for hours and hours and are usually hot, tired and have worked very hard to set the whole thing up. My big pet peeve is people who point out a flaw in something and then ask to take less. If you want to offer a few dollars less, that's great, but don't be rude and make them feel bad because their product doesn't meet your standards. I see the guys on 'Pickers' do this all the time. They try to make the 'ol guy feel bad because his bike is rusted then they go home and sell it for a couple thousand.

Lucky for me, a rock booth was one of the first we came across! All of the vendors are SO nice and helpful! Breckin came home with some rocks that she didn't have. A rock that held a votive was also a new part of her collection. So pretty at night!

At the end of the day I am tired, we have all found beautiful treasures that we can't live without...and my little nature girl didn't spend a single dime for her favorite find.....

Going to a flea market or yard sale isn't really all about buying for me. The fun lies in finding a piece that someone is considering throwing out. I love teaching my daughter that when you dust something off and show it a little love, that anything can be beautiful. Something that someone once treasured is given a special place in our home and given another chance.

Skort Love!

My usual running atire has been sweats or the tight pants made with lycra. I know they didn't look good but they helped 'hold it all in'. I tried running in shorts but my legs are not, in any way, thin... and I chafed. So I noticed a friend running in skorts...the most attractive thing about her skorts were that they were WHITE. The ugly pants I've been wearing are black and they are so very hot.
So without hesitating, the next time I saw a Hibbets I trucked myself in, and threw some medium Nike skorts next to the register. I ALMOST passed out when the total was over $50 but I really wanted to try them. I usually do not spend a lot on fitness things but lately I'm shelling out a little more because comfort really is priceless.
Oddly enough, the same week I bought the skorts I found this article on skorts helping a track team to run faster. After I brought them home and the Mediums FIT, there was no way I was taking them back. Now that I've been wearing them I am in L-O-V-E! The compression shorts inside of the skort help to hold it all together and I'm not constantly worried about my thighs because they are covered by the skort. When I have some extra cashola I am buying more and hoping to find a pink pair because white is such a hard color for me to keep white! So I thought I would share my new obsession and hope that they help you as much as they help you....and if they help us run faster, that'd be pretty cool too!

Burnout tops from Firedaughterclothing

When my kids were little and they got new shoes, they would tell me how much faster they could run and then show me that the new shoes did, in fact, make them run faster. This is how I feel with new workout clothes. I ordered this shirt from http://www.etsy.com/shop/FiredaughterClothing and got it within a week. This was a custom that I requested so that is super speedy!

This is my second order from this etsy shop and I will definitely be getting more. Last year I put my head down every time I was at the gym so I wouldn't have to look at myself. Now I look in every one that I pass so I can see my swanky duds! These shirts are SO SOFT and fit perfectly. Hopefully I will be getting a medium next time but for now the large fits good.
